Good enough

Image taken from the song Good Enough by Dodgy. One of the games that would spontaneously happen on this sprint is bursting in to song when you heard some words that were lyrics in a song.

Sometimes we get stuck trying to make something perfect. Sometimes we get stuck in a conversation that we feel deeply. Sometimes we need to be heard, so we repeat and repeat, and repeat.

The lead facilitator knew that bringing in this question would help keep things moving when the sprint got stuck.

"Is this good enough?"

Movement matters...

It wasn’t about cutting corners - more about understanding what was needed in the moment. As time went on the group would bring it in for themselves - “Is this good enough?”.

Some decisions were stepping stones, helping everyone reach the next important, useful moment.

This was a sprint, not a marathon. Even with the weight of huge responsibility, forward motion was essential. New insights and even new ways of doing things appeared because “good enough” created the movement needed.

"Good enough" is a gentle push, reminding everyone that movement matters and that having something to work with matters.

How do you feel about the question - is it good enough?
